Default I Love Grunge (Not Really, But Let's Do It Just To Annoy Nick1976)

Post your favourite grunge videos, talk about how grunge is better than hair metal, and basically anything that will annoy this guy as he has annoyed us.

All these albums are far better than any hair metal album. And this is coming from someone who actually likes glam metal (to be fair, the Mother Love Bone album straddles the line between grunge and glam).

You know what I really hate? I really ****ing hate the narrative that grunge and alternative killed metal and made it uncool. Because if anything, grunge and alternative rock made mainstream metal respectable again. Please note my usage of the word mainstream in the last sentence. Bands who were squarely in the metal camp of the alternative revolution like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Gruntruck, Tad, The Melvins, L7, Living Colour, Faith No More, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, Helmet, Jane's Addiction, Primus, Tool, and Kyuss all felt way more authentic, way more interesting, and way more fresh than the poodle metal bands. I like hair metal, but their music simply wasn't as good as the bands I listed and others. So the next time some retard tries to tell you that metal died during the rise of alternative, please do your part to make the world a better place and punch them in the mouth to stop the **** flowing from it. That is one narrative that needs to die.

I actually hate Grunge.
But the enemy of my enemy still isn't my friend.

I always loved the intro to this track:

Shame that it destroyed good music forever.
