Gift ideas for a Guitarist / Home Recording Studio Suggestions

So my boyfriend is a guitarist who also composes.

I am trying to gift him something nice for our first anniversary. I came across these home recording studio kits for around 70-80$ and was wondering if you guys have any suggestions about which ones are good.

Or if you have any other suggestions about better gifts, for around 100$.

He hasn't been playing a lot nowadays, he has a busy work life and maybe that's why. So I was thinking the recording kit would bring him some excitement.

Edit: He has two guitars here (we're in U.S. at present. And I guess a portable amplifier.) I guess that is all he has here.

He plays acoustic and Bass.

I don't have any knowledge about these things and would appreciate all suggestions.

[I hope I am violating any forum rules.]

The important question is what does he already have? We can't tell you to get anything if we don't know what he has to work with.

I’m Thurston from Sonic Youth. I posted my pic to prove it.

Well, with a set-up like that there isn't much you can get him that would be bad. Here's a pedal I bought years ago that's right in your range that I absolutely love. Though since he doesn't have any pedals you can go for the G1Xon cause it has the expression pedal but I can't vouch for how good it is because I already had a wah pedal when I bought it so the expression pedal was just extra money that I didn't need to spend.

It’s important to never use pedals until you sign with Geffen

Guitar strings
Strap locks.
A new strap/s.
Guitar picks.
A pack of 9V batteries if he has an electric guitar with active pickups.

All under $100.
Possibly a new guitar case, if you know where to look around or a new, used guitar case. Or even possibly a new guitar cable.
