That I haven't even listened to this one yet. I kinda still hope Troll starts posting the next few albums soon - then I can do all of the one's I have missed in one day if I manage to pull myself together. Just haven't been feeling like listening to Bowie recently.

I ended up voting 4 on this one, although it feels more like a 3.5 to me. It's better than all albums before Station to Station (except The Man Who Sold The World), but it's not quite on level with the other albums that I voted a 4.

Many songs on this album are more weird than good, which is to say that I like them at first, but then the gimmick kinda wears off after a few spins of the album and I start feeling like it's not exactly all songs on this album that are all that great. A couple of them even start feeling mildly grating.

a low 4/5

Another excellent Bowie album. Like everything here, no bad tracks, the addition of Carlos Alomar really brings the fretless bass into play. I like the mix of styles on songs like "Yassassin" and "Red Money" (the latter of which has a very eighties Gabriel feel, yes I know) and of course there are the hits, such as "DJ" and "Boys Keep Swinging". Won't go 5/5 but a definite 4 here.

This is my favorite album of the Bowie trilogy. It isn't quite as electronic as the other two so it doesn't seem to fit in with Low or Heroes. Actually, maybe this is what Young Americans should have sounded like. There's nothing plastic about this album at all. Best tracks are Look Back in Anger, Boys Keep Swinging, and Fantastic Voyage. Gave it a five but can't quite give it a perfect score as the Ziggy era albums are still better. Still, a near perfect gem.

9/10 (The Word has spoken )
