Two of my favourite instruments. Post any music using cellos, violins (or, often in the case of country or folk music, fiddle) - any genre, doesn't have to even be actual cello or violin; synthesised is fine as long as it sounds authentic.

Sky Song by Sarah Hopkins & Alan Lamb

Sarah Hopkins plays the cello (with some vocals as well), while Lamb does his classic telegraph wires. beautiful stuff

One Cello x 16: Natoma by Zoe Keating

a bit more cinematic than Sky Song, but v good nonetheless. as the name suggests, she loops as much as 16 cello motifs over one another to create a more orchestral effect.

A different kind of Violin but a violin nonetheless.

Chthonic uses a traditional Taiwanese violin called the "Erhu" they combine traditional Oriental folk music with extreme metal music to create a great unique sound.

Two for the price of one! That's always good when you're buying soap powder, so the same applies when you're shopping for violinists, right? Actually this cassette from 1988 has some seriously beautiful music on it. Enjoy:-
