What's the greatest genre of music?

What's the greatest genre of music ever?

Post music as evidence that your opinion is the correct one.

I'm gonna start out soft with the suggestion that the broad category of contemporary singer/songwriter is of course the true music of sophisticated people with good taste:

At the risk of sounding like a tool reading from a script there isn't one. Metal rules my life and has since I was thirteen but the vast, vast majority of it isn't good for much else besides being a nerd with a testosterone imbalance, and the weirdo **** even when good generally sounds like people trying to be experimental who really shouldn't be stepping outside their lane.

And no matter how many genres I fall in love with none of them ever truly span the breadth of what I could want from music, so none of them are the best cause I still need to chuck them in the bin every now and again in disgust to find what I really want to listen to.

Post-punk is great and all but if I want what I get from country then post-punk is almost entirely useless.
