Old disco song question

Hello, I hear a song that I am starting to become familiar with and I find it very annoying. I was listening to a disco station online and they had that full ten minute song where a female singer goes "That I love you...And I love you.. And I need you..And I want you" over and over. It had gotten to a point that it is considered torture and totally can drive a person insane. Somewhere in the middle of the song, the guy says that he is a lonely man who is living in the world of dreams or something like that. To make matters worse, this song plays late at night at around 1 or 2AM EVERY TIME! But sometimes it is randomly played during the early to mid afternoon hours. Some radio stations also play this, but not as much than other well known disco songs. That lead singer is somewhat annoying and almost gave me nightmares.

The singer chanting that she loves me and needs me and wants me sounds creepy and is musical torture! So, I'm asking that who sings this song and if anyone ever have complaints about it. I personally don't want to be bombarded by this damn song playing late at night!

Hmm, sounds vaguely familiar but not sure exactly what it would be.

Have you checked the radio station's website? Many radio stations keep a list of the songs they played and when they played it, so if this one does you could go through their playlist and find the one you were hearing.

That song came out in '79. I hated this song because the way she sings I can easily get a stuck tune syndrome. Good thing lot of radio stations out here doesn't play this song at all, but I can only hear it through the power of the Interwebs, or on Sirius XM's all-disco station. The name of the song sounds like "come to me", but at the tale end of it has a creepy sound verse "love you...love you" sung OVER AND OVER!! Like I said, it drives me insane upon hearing it and it's worse than listening to a furniture store's jingle at the end of the holiday commercial!

Is this the one? This is what came to mind for me.

You guys are all wrong. That's not Donna Summer or Chic singing it.

Here, I'll give you some of the lyrics...

Come to Me
When Your world is empty and cold
Come to Me
When You need someone You want to hold
Come to Me
In My arms I will keep You safe and warm

In the middle of the song, there's a male soloist singing this verse.

[II'm a lonely man
Living in a world of dreams
I've got everything
But the one thing that I really need][/I]

Towards the end of the song, the repeated singing of "love you" repeatedly sounds annoying as hell.

Oh, so it's this:

But an extended version, I imagine.

Now I get it!

This is the song that totally drive me insane. Listen towards the end of the song and her chanting of the "love you...." on the extended version sounds so powerful that it is considered as creepy.

It's something all right.

I don't get it. It's a totally hot disco song sung by a fifteen year old girl
that has an excellent percussion dance break in the middle of the 12" version.
...and you're driven cRaZy by repetition in a disco song?

BarneyHasAnOctagonHead 12-17-2018 09:53 PM

Just looked at the recent clips of her performance on Youtube at mostly smaller venues and OMG she looks totally fat now. But still, got the creeps of that "love you" chant towards the end of the 12" version of the song.

Hey! Nice to see you around again!

Now that the song has been identified, I hadn't heard that song in a very very long time. Don't think I heard it all that often when it came out, either.

BarneyHasAnOctagonHead 12-19-2018 05:19 PM

Just heard that song last night past 1AM. Why on earth is this song played between 1-3AM on random nights?

BarneyHasAnOctagonHead 12-24-2018 12:36 AM

I am really hoping that, god forbid, this song won't be playing around X-Mas. Totally a bad timing since the stations here now plays holiday music. And it shouldn't be played on late nights leading to the holiday too.

This song should never, ever been played before Xmas, period!

That album cover looks creepy. It almost looks like a woman from Exorcist. Plus this song is mediocre.

BarneyHasAnOctagonHead 01-11-2019 11:40 PM

Oh, and that singer is now fat and nothing like what she was in the 70's. Don't know if she is pumped up with something, but she looks totally unrecognizable. In any case, she is 'roided.

MicShazam 01-12-2019 03:08 AM

So what? People grow older and maybe get fat. If she can still sing, that's what matters.

I agree. I wasn't around when her song became a disco hit, but she was a one-hit wonder. She doesn't look hot anymore though. :-(

Of course, she still performs at several venues.

BarneyHasAnOctagonHead 02-04-2019 02:10 PM

Was she either on steroids or had an obsessive eating disorder that made her look this way?

MicShazam 02-05-2019 12:04 AM

You are legit trolling, aren't you?
