He's a g but if you put Baytoven as the pinnacle of Real Music only as a reaction to rap then it's probably not the most informed opinion.

My post referenced him falling back on his dad studying music as the undeniable "proof" supporting his anti-rap stance but I can't find it so that might've been a fake thing I'm remembering, idk.

I don’t know who you’re talking about for sure but from Lucem I guess Ben Shapiro kek. Maybe I should actually read the thread.

As distant as they may seem I don’t think you can fully appreciate Beethoven without a mind that can also appreciate hip hop. Music is sound expressed as art. That’s it. Beethoven pushed boundaries in very similar ways. Even professional musicologists fail to understand how radical he was the same way they think Hendrix was losing the plot when death was creeping on and he would just let the feedback go and go. They say Beethoven couldn’t conduct because he was deaf. Bull****. He was pushing the boundaries of traditional tonality and Bartok knew that and that’s why Bartok’s string quartets are a natural extension of Beethoven’s. But if you’re not open to the angry radicalism of hip hop then you’re lost when you listen to Beethoven as well. I don’t give a **** you’re conducting the New York Philharmonic if you don’t get this you need to go get a late pass. Understanding the connectivity is using your ears like a champ and not a chump.

I've been thinking about something similar lately. With increased access to music I think that we'll be seeing an increase in singular musical approaches and genre blends. I could see a culture of blending the unlikely niches we live in helping us find key elements of music that we wouldn't have realized without a mass deconstruction that I'm envisioning. PC Music seems to be a progenitor of that.

EDIT: Damn, Cardi really bringing out the discourse.

I’ll have to start exploring these artists.
