Brandi Carlile

Do we really not have a Brandi thread here? Anyhow, the new track slays:

Yes, that's a good track. She has a great voice and the lyrics are clever.
Same is true of other songs I have by her: Stranger At The Door and Wilder. In fact, that's a good excuse for me to post a clip of her singing live:-

I forgot how good Stranger at the Door, the song, was. I need to spin that one again.

Stranger at the Door was a great tune that I had forgotten about. I'll have to re-spin that one.

I bet you will

I recently remembered the excellence of the track, Stranger at the Door. I owe it to myself to listen to it again.

We're playing a game of paraphrasing, amIright?

TheBig3 01-07-2022 05:54 PM

Ha, I guess we are. Lisn, you're a bright light in this dark cave of a forum.

Lisnaholic 01-07-2022 06:28 PM

Thanks, Big3 ! You and me both.

Remember the old days when we had Jack Pat and others to keep this part of MB alive ?

Sadly, no. A lot of the old names have faded. That said a song that Hermione (sp?) loved came up on my Spotify and that was a real gut-punch.

Perhaps he was operating under another name at the time, but I distinctly remember you me and him planning the birth of the FAIR album club in the "World Music" subforum. Mind you, that was also about the time that you seemed to lose interest in MB for quite a number of years.

Sleepy Jack?

Lisnaholic 01-07-2022 07:49 PM

I don't think so. Sleepy Jack had left by the time I arrived.
Jack Pat was also Cenotaph.

Edit: then Cenotaph became TockTockTock. Here's a thread he made about Vladimir Oidupaa Oiun:-

Maybe I was one-foot out the door, as you say. Oh well.

Yes of course.
