A veneer of nostalgia can certainly make even the horrible compact cassettes seem attractive. Imo, these ancient formats should be laid to rest and the factories that produce them shut down or repurposed.

Walking around with a walkman today.. Well, you might as well vape while driving a segway.

To be fair, I have played some tapes on a higher end tape deck and they have sounded fantastic.

I won't say that CD is the best format. It's more convenient for me, seeing as how I have a lot of them, as well as a small basement.
