Default New Rock

I showed my sister over 50 brand new rock cds and downloads..

She said it's not the same..

I told her that nothing new ever is and her ideas are the reason for rock being considered dead.

She asked why that is..
So I told her why..

I said that I like art..
Art always lives.

What you like, is the money in the artists pocket, which of course doesn't last..

It's much more important to like art because by liking art, you have a culture and therefore a personality yourself..

What you have is more a quagmire, than a culture or a personality.
You're a follower.
You can't just listen to dead people who can't speak for themselves and people who still tour but no longer produce, and expect your culture to live.

If you like the art that is rock, let's check it out.

She agreed to listen to it, and it wasn't bad, in fact it was good stuff.
But at 53 it didn't quite fill the void that she has.

I tried to tell her that of course it doesn't fill a void..
But you can't walk around with a void..
To have a void is the definition of emotional death..

Waking up in the morning and turning on the radio and hearing something new that you like is what makes life worth living.

Elvis Presley is dead, he doesn't live..
But his art does..
To walk around with a void that is Elvis, is to be as dead as he is..
To like art is to be alive.

:p
