Default Where can I find the original Nine Inch Nails' "Marrying the Gunner's Daughter"

I can only ever seem to find Adam Ant's cover of the song.

I can't seem to find the original Nine Inch Nails version anywhere. Even when I go to listen to the Downward Spiral album, both on YouTube, and also on an album I re-bought, for whatever reason, it's some later version (I am assuming) that replaced it with a song called Piggy. I'm trying to look up information on it, but nothing appears to even acknowledge its existence.

From what I read it's not a cover; he wrote it. I'm not entirely sure why you think NIN did a version, but if they did, that would be the cover. He's credited as the songwriter.

Well, I had the Downward Spiral album years before Adam Ant did and released this song, and this was on there, and was clearly them. It was the second song on the album, but later versions replaced it with a song called Piggy for whatever reason. Adam's version came out in 2012, while the NIN version was all the way back in 1994. I hadn't had the album in a while, and I tried listening to it on YouTube only to find Piggy instead of Gunner's Daughter. And then I found the album at a store, and it also had Piggy.

I have no idea what you're talking about. I bought The Downward Spiral when it first came out and the second track was "Piggy".

Maybe it wasn't replaced on a later version. But I do know Marrying The Gunner's Daughter was on the copy I had, and it was very much Nine Inch Nails doing it. The style of music was different to Adam's, although the key and melody and lyrics were mostly the same. I remember being able to find it back when Adam's version came out, as I heard he did a cover, and I went back to listen to NIN's version. But for whatever reason I can't find it anymore.

Maybe you had mixtape. There’s no release with that song on it and, as far as I can tell, there’s no Nails Inch Nails version of that song in existence.

It's clearly stated in this article that Adam Ant wrote it.

Maybe was bootleged or something? But I bought it at a store (sometime after the album had been out, but well before Adam Ant did the song) on a CD, and the entire album was exactly the same, but this one song was different. I can hear it in my head nicely, and I even remember finding it on YouTube years ago.

That's really strange...Unless Adam wrote it long before the early tens, and knew Trent, who did a cover, and this was a weird bootleg, I am not sure what else to say here.

Back in the old days, we'd have provided a link to a gentleman names Rick Asterly.
