RVRB - A way for Musicbanter to play music together...

Good afternoon,

Most of you probably don't know me as I was active a number of years ago however am looking to again become active in the Musicbanter community. One of my favorite Musicbanter activities was the old Plug.dj sessions we used to have. As those of you who used it know, it was shut down under copyright reasons.

Out of the ashes came a few different sites that work off of Spotify Premium, therefore avoiding the copyright issues. I would like to suggest if anyone is interested that we try RVRB. It allows numerous users to take turns DJing, with upvotes and downvotes for every song played. It works based off your spotify account so adding songs played to your normal playlists is easy.

I would like to gauge the interest in such a thing, as if we have enough perhaps once a week we could have a dedicated time where musicbanter members play sets they sign up for, or everyone joins to spin anything they want. Below is the link to the room I have created if this does move forward. Let me know if this is something you might be interested in.

*Note* To the mods here: The site is not for profit in any way and was made by the users of JQBX/Plug.dj its predecessor sites. It costs no money (if you have spotify) and does not require any donation or solicitation of any kind. I have no affiliation and am only posting this to hopefully get a group together that would want to DJ and play some music.

Just poppin by to say hi again Dr. Rez and is there any chance of you coming back to the album club? I won't be involved in this, as I didn't like PlugDJ and anyway I am boycotting Spotify over Rogan so I wouldn't be able to use it.

You might want to nip over to our new forum, SCD (Something Completely Different) set up by Tore (Guybrush) and I, and where some old and new members are. They might also be interested, unless you want to keep it strictly for MB users.

Good luck with it anyway!

Oh and by the way I'd spoiler the image. It is MASSIVE and you have to scroll about a foot or more across the page to read everything.

Hello friend. Yes I would definitely like to rejoin that. I am not familiar with what you are referring to with Spotify and Rogan however. Mind filling me in?

If I had Spotify premium I would totally be down for this. I miss the plug days.

I subbed to YouTube music though.

Well you'd be most welcome back to the club. In fact, we begin a new album on Monday, so good timing.

The Rogan thing is the amount of exposure they give to Joe Rogan and his disinformation about everything from Covid to the election. Neil Young took his music away from them in disgust, saying they had to choose. They did. They chose Rogan. And so I chose to pull my subscription.

Could you link me to it?

Haha yea he said and continues to say constantly stupid **** about covid. I really only listen to JRE when they have an MMA guest these days. I like Spotify too much to not use it, you are a better person than I.

I think having a specific time each week to do it would help than just having it open nonstop.

Yeah man, I'd definitely be down to do this sort of thing again. I am kind of disappointed with having to use spotify though, a lot of stuff I listen to isn't even on there anymore.
