To Those Who've Started Their Music Career
How did you do it?
Do you just start off with a DAW and play around until you got enough ok-sounding songs to grab an audience? Did you rent a studio? Work with other friends and musicians to start your projects? Just curious. |
My best advice is: play with others.
You'll learn from your playing and your mistakes and also from listening to what other people play and say. Play, play and play. The joy of music-making is, to me, very connected with community and a group enjoying the same activity. You can always play yourself in your home, maybe an instrument or fooling around with your favorite DAW, but I always think of that as one of things: I'm practicing and enriching my musical palette or I'm creating music for other to hear. Both of those, have something in common: I want to be better to play with others, I want others to enjoy my music. That's my two cents! All of my luck to you! |
