Well, I was actually laughing my ass off, so I thought it would be appropiate. Also acronyms are bearable if they are not used excessively, and the author of this thread posted this convo with lots of unnecessary and annoying acronyms and stupid jokes.

There aren't... There is all this post emo/screamo bull**** (case in point alexis on fire) bands like sleepytime trio, braid, kerosene 454, moss icons, sunny day real estate, and even the get up kids are all over.

Pg.99, City of Caterpillar, Hot Cross, Dear Diary I Seem To Be Dead, Saetia, and Orchid all do a pretty good job at keeping the emo scene strong. But a few of them have broken up.

I think mannequin Republic just got done reading Fourfa, or that Andy Greenwald book, and now thinks he knows everything there is to know about Emo.

Fourfa needs to be taken half seriously, half jokingly. It seems very few people understand that.

Yeah and you can trace everything back to cavemen from Africa but it doesn't mean it's the same thing.

I've seen people act like Fourfa is the Holy Bible of Emo. It's pretty funny, especially when people who actually know their **** come in and pwn them.

And Screamo isn't that different than Emo. It's not like, say, the difference between Punk and Post-Punk, where there's a huge difference between them. The two are very similar.

I see where you're coming from...but listen to Braid or Sunny Day Real Estate, then listen to Saetia.

Sunny Day Real Estate is just as emo as saetia.
Sunny Day = indie emo rock stuff.
Saetia = screamo.
Two diffirent sub genres, at least compare an emo band to a screamo band jeez.
