It is if you listen to actual bands in the genre and not poorly labeled ones.

If it's any type of punk, then it probably sucks.

emo music generally annoys me, but its ok, they will go home and cry to their mum.

dont get me wrong ive listened,

just the screaming and the vocals general bug the helloutta me.

some of the riffs are good but are spoilt IMO

What emo bands did you here that annoyed you.
I will admit that I do not like a lot of screamo. Only the ones where you can really tell that the screamer is yelling at the top of his lungs, and has put a lot of passion into the screaming. This is why I want to hear Indian Summer, I heard that the singer's lyrics sometimes got so personal, that he would actually break down and cry in the middle of a song.

Eh, I have a feeling most people will disagree with those bands being emo, save a few.

Fugazi are boardline emo, Inme..well aren't emo, MCR and Bullet for my valentine and MCR? Nope, havn't heard Mendeed but im guessing they aren't. Emo/Screamo bands.
