Favorite Ian Mackaye band?

He's easily my favorite musician.

I feel like putting pretty pictures and this is the order that I rank his bands.

I'm tied between Fugazi and Minor Threat.
I'm leaning towards Fugazi though . . . .

I didn't put pailhead as well. I don't really care for either and I guess my bullshit justification for not puting them is I put this thread in the Hardcore/Emo forum.

And vote for him to go in the hall of fame.

Mephistopheles 07-16-2006 03:18 PM

Foogazi.

Glassjaw Fan 07-17-2006 06:24 AM

riseagainstrocks 07-17-2006 07:44 AM

The correct answer is Minor Threat

Quarintined 07-24-2006 09:19 PM

Only one of them is good. Minor Threat.

That, is why Mr. Ian Mackaye is more hardcore then you.

White Lies 07-31-2006 06:31 AM

Hard as it is to choose, I'm going with Fugazi

swim 07-31-2006 10:15 AM

No Embrace fans? It's a killer album imo it's way better than Minor Threat.

dressing up 08-04-2006 12:18 PM

Fugazi. Duh.

The Dave 08-09-2006 08:14 AM

I've only heard Minor Threat and Embrace, Minor Threat is the better of those two so i'm voting Minor Threat.

White Lies 08-10-2006 07:04 PM

Embrace are very good, but Minor Threat at their best are untouchable. In my opinon at least.

I like the Teen IDles as well, they just dont have enough material or enough longetivity to be considered as good as the rest I dont think.

Nothing is better than Minor Threat. I voted Minor Threat

Alo 08-21-2006 09:54 AM

Blaaah. Embrace sounds like a mixture between Coldplay and U2 to me. And let those bands be my err least favorite bands......

swim 08-21-2006 10:40 AM

Not the brit-pop band!!!

They released a self titled disc on discord records in 1992 if I'm not mistaken.

Alo 08-21-2006 11:48 AM

Teen Idles for me, though it was close between them and Minor threat.

The original disc was released in the 80s. They were part of the first wave of emo after all, around at the same time as Rites of Spring and early Dag Nasty. There may have been a reissue, I dunno.

Eh did you seriously think IAN MACKAYE was in the English band Embrace, Alo?

TMR 08-22-2006 06:14 PM

Nothing can beat Minor threat.

TheoreticalThoughtControl 09-03-2006 07:25 PM

threat.
