Yeah. I didn't even know these bands were planning a split with each other until I went to Jesu's wiki page this morning. I decided to google it and apperantly it was just leaked yesterday :) Both bands songs are great.

i have the thursday/envy split now! thursday went back to playing emo-ish stuff. it's pretty solid.

it's pretty fuckin sweet. the thursday songs arent half bad either, way better than anything else they've done recently.

the split is ok and I agree w/ francis haha, considering I think all of envys songs sound pretty similar. His vocal patterns are the same iin every song

I think Thursday is heading in the right direction. My favorite album is Waiting and it's pretty different than what they're doing now, but I feel like they made a good progression.

the songs on the envy split are probably my favourite stuff by thursday... granted i don't really like that much. waiting is pretty decent.

a dead sinking story is one of my favorite albums of all time.

Captain caveman always listens to badass stuff and all envy albums sound the same except for breathing and dying in this place. They're one of the most overrated bands ever though. I hate when I talk to people that listen to them and they think that they're as screamo as it gets.

only gripe i have with envy is tetsuya sounding so ****ing old now. anyway, thursday has been pretty solid. only release they ever did that sucked was a city by the light divided. otherwise, their catalog would be awesome. i seriously don't see the point in hating them for being famous among "those" kids.

I wouldn't make the statement that everything they do sounds the same. Listen to most of their pre-2000 stuff. Their earlier stuff is world's apart from their stuff now; most of it doesn't even sound like the same band.

Anyone seeing them on their US tour or hear the new album? I'm seeing them in LA in October, and actually haven't heard enough of the new album to make any judgements.

General thoughts welcome too, of course.

I saw Envy live, and DEAR GOD.. Was it spectacular, it was a mind bending / blowing experience, the performance was great, the crowd was into it, and every band playing on the tour was so happy they were performing with that band specifically from Japan? I mean their new album is so good, along with everything else they made.. It's just a plethora of wonderful with this band, and I don't regret ever hearing about them..

Dunno if a lot of Envy fans still lurk the boards, but I'm just posting here to say that their new album is incredible, in my top 5 of the year easily.

Their live show 2 weeks ago was just killer. Most of my favorite bands are not together anymore, so I'll be savoring those memories for a long time.

I've listened to their first album and found it pretty boring and samey but their split with Thursday was excellent.

Their new album is my top 3 this year. So good.
