Piglet

I couldn't think of a band that embraced their Chicago roots more. Math-rock meets post-emo. Kind of like a Maps and Atlasses that has better song writing skills.http://www.myspace.com/piglet

I don't like them way too soft and I can't relate to the lyrics. Sorry :(

swim 02-21-2007 03:32 PM

And what lyrics would that be? I'm a bit tired of you making it a regular thing to say I don't like this in a lot of these threads. That's great, don't listen to it but you obviously didn't give it a good enough to know they were instrumental.

Mad Science is the only typical song they have up there so I guess I'll up their ep because the other tracks are a bit different.

Fun stuff. Sounds good.

Well I dig Mad Science, some nice drumming, but whatever the other songs are, they sound ***.

You guys do it to soo many thread just saying my opinion. I thought there were vocals in the background my bad :(

acratertocoffin 02-22-2007 08:06 AM

We do it to bands that you talk about because we have honest thoughts about music that we feel is crap because we've listened to the music and made our own opinions. That and your insistance that shitty bands are "new emo" but let's avoid that shit for now shall we?

From what you said it's apparent that you didn't listen to the music and were saying that it's shit for the sake of proving some God forsaken point that was lost a long time ago.

what i uploaded is similar to mad science.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-22-2007 02:24 PM

The electronic stuff was a little too bubbly for my taste, but Mad Science sounded a lot like Ghosts & Vodka, so I dug it.

I was referring to the other myspace songs

swim 02-22-2007 02:55 PM

I know I was just saying because none of the songs on myspace are on Lava Land and the other songs sound nothing like but Mad Science does.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-22-2007 09:06 PM

This album is incredible.

TheUsedToolguy 02-24-2007 06:08 PM

I heard 'em. Sounds like a bunch of guys jamming together that hav never played w/ each other before.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-24-2007 06:10 PM

Except for the fact that you don't know what a tight, intricate band sounds like.

sleepy jack 02-24-2007 06:11 PM

Of course he does, he listens to Tool.

swim 02-24-2007 06:12 PM

I wish I sounded like a math rock band on my first jam session with my friends.

A_Perfect_Sonnet 02-24-2007 06:12 PM

Lawl @ Maynard.

TheUsedToolguy 02-24-2007 06:42 PM

yeah, but I know what suckiness sounds like, and they've got it.

swim 02-24-2007 06:46 PM

So if you all would ignore him, in this thread at least, that would be great.

Kind of a chill version of this band.

Laces Out Dan! 03-02-2007 05:33 PM

yeah, Mad Science was sick..i liked it a lot. Can anyone suggest any other bands similar to that kind of thing?

swim 03-02-2007 05:37 PM

Maps and Atlasses and Sleeping People are the closest and then some kind of far removed bands are

Make Believe, Dianogah, Faraquet, Don Cabellero, Q and Not U, 31 Knots,

Laces Out Dan! 03-02-2007 05:47 PM

I just downloaded the EP..and im loving it. A lot.

swim 03-04-2007 04:30 PM

They are six beautiful songs.

I finally downloaded stuff from this band Dakota/Dakota and they're closer to Piglet than any band I mentioned.

I think they're wrongly tagged but it's Dakota/Dakota and it's pretty awesome.

Laces Out Dan! 03-04-2007 05:35 PM

Laces Out Dan! 03-04-2007 11:42 PM

swim 09-20-2007 07:13 PM

Their ep is pretty flawless. I hope they release some more stuff that's within the same vein. If you like these guys then you should check out malegoat, omg elephant and Street Smart Cyclist.
