Default The Locust - New Erections

Anyone else heard this yet?

Its really good... a huge improvement on their (often pointlesssly) noisy earlier releases. Its more structured and shows that they have some talent. some really nice sludgy parts too.

Plague Soundscapes is a masterpiece and the last EP before the new cd is goddamn amazing. Pointless noise is pretty far off. I wouldn't call it a "huge" improvement by any means. It's not that much different.

New Erections is good, I dont like the vocals as much, but theyve definitely polished their sound on this album. Plague Soundscapes is still my favorite album by them, I really like all of their albums/e.p.s/splits, that was the point that they were a noise rock band partly though lol, thats why they made pointless noise. I think theyre more concerned with making challenging music now, I messaged them a bit ago and they said that in a few of their songs they have to do split second tuning live haha, thats crazy. You know the guitarist and bassist read sheet music? They really are a group of skilled musicians.

it's definitely different; and i agree with you about it being more structured. while i enjoy their older stuff, New Erections shows that they have grown as musicians.

I had to review it about a week ago. It's alright, nothing all that amazing.

I don't really think I really want The Locust to be musicians.

I hope they're not stoned out of their minds. That goes for the other bands, too.
