The Great Debate-Emo vs Hardcore

Which iz betta? The violence an sheer rage of hardcore
or
The more sensitive, emotional, poetic emo

hmmmmm........

It's such a shame that I love both so much...

although I tend to listen to emo more, because alot of my favorite indie bands are pretty emo too.

David Frost 11-09-2004 03:22 PM

emo is violent and rageful. its often some of the most violent and emotionally volitle music. hell, most of the time hardcore has much happier messages and upbeat songs. (that is if you know that Gorilla Biscuits, Verse, Youth of Today, and bands like that are hardcore and bands like Isodora Crane and Of Death are emo)

I once saw the lead singer of Alien Ant Farm incite such violence and rage in a crowd that someone threw their shoes at his head. That guy, or girl, had to walk home without their shoes that night, but I bet they felt like the king or queen of the world.

Right in his head.

i agree with david frost

hardcore music can be emo to but not to get off the subject i would say hc or emocore would be better

Hardcore, emo has turned into complete dribble. Theres still alot of decent hardcore out there.

hahahaha no, I haven't but I will do that.

craigdavies 11-30-2004 09:45 AM

i like both,
i do like emo a bit more but both are sweet as a bitch:)

hopefornothing 11-30-2004 10:07 AM

yeah i guess it all depends on my mode i love them both

alk3jam 11-30-2004 03:05 PM

i like to take a little from both styles of music, thats why recently i have eben listening to a lot of screamo. I think Hardcore concerts are much more fun and entertaining but if im just driving in my car or sitting at home i am usually not filled with energy so i listen to more slow-tempo emo

UnderOATH 12-01-2004 04:06 AM

On what mood im in i think.

Raine 12-01-2004 03:40 PM

Neither.
Puerto Rican reggae

Just kidding. :p: :finger:
I think I like both equally. I mean I don't listen to one more than another and I can name as many emo songs as hard core songs that I like.

I much as I like groups like Papa Roach I like song by groups like Jimmy Eat World whom I still mildy hate but will appreciate their music.
It's kinda hard to find a group that plays music that's more or less meant to entertain people of all ages.

I guess it's all a matter of your poison. I can listen to songs by bands that i hate, and I can dis songs by groups that I love more than half the time.

Although I honestly think I like Puerto Rican reggae more than either of these genres. Kinda hard to believe since I don't listen to it that often.

But yeah that's my person opinion.
Peace out
