why is this thread even in one of the music sections?

Huge sigh of relief right now.

My daughter, being 15, sometimes listens to music all the other kids listen to and likes the radio and such. I try to expose her to better music (I think she is catching on). But, she was watching Youtube- Brokencyde, I think the Freaxxx video.

I was so horrified about what I saw. Almost like, is this really happening??? Is this for real? I thought that maybe it was a parody. So, I watched a few more of their videos. This is a real group. Devastating. I'm almost crying, thats how much confusion I feel about this group and I wonder how any society could be interested in this.

So, I turned to MB... lets see if I'm just not "hip" enough to appreciate this- perhaps its an amazing new genre and I should be opening my mind to it. But, thankfully... my disgust is appropriate. Thank you, MB.

However.... the little scream in Freaxxx... I kind of like it because it reminds me of the little scream in the chorus of Animal Collective's "For Reverend Green" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TswM9XcGd7g

According to Wikipedia the title of their debut, "I'm not a fan But The Kids Like It", was a quote from there manager. I just find it hillarious that this band is so reviled that their manager hates their music as much as the rest of us.

Oh and yes, I agree with the majority this band is horrendous.

Brokencyde's music makes me wanna punch babies.
