Edgecore...? (genre, bands)

Hey all, was wondering if any1 would care to explain to me what this is? Im guessing some type of emo?

ummm never heard of it but i would assume that it was some sort of straightedge band....and your name makes no since.................way too many dots................

I`m guessing it`s another meaningless sub-genre made in a pathetic attempt to divert attention from how ordinary the music really is

But yeah thats gonna be what it is. Theres way too many genres and sub-genres now. Then theres gonna be sub-sub-genres, and sub-sub-sub-genres. Its annoying and Im not going to use genres anymore. If I have to describe a band from now on I'll say what bands they sound like. Seeing as its rare to find an original sounding band now.

Ok rant over.
