Guilty Pleasure?

Is emo a guilty pleasure? Now, I enjoy it, but I know a lot of people who just run it down, then I'll bet a hundred bucks they go home and put on a Dashboard cd. Is it really a guilty pleasure to others?

ArtistInTheAmbulance 01-03-2005 12:30 PM

I think there's some people who won't admit to liking it because theres so many people who run it down... And mebbe theres a few guys who wont listen to emo because theyre too manly to cry. Hehe..

I say I don`t like it , simply because I don`t.
Many people have tried to get me into it many times but it`s just not gonna happen.

Quite simply to me emo is boring generic guitar music.

My idea of a guilty pleasure is listening to a U2 song for the sole intention of making me feel like punching Bonos lights out.

I love the darkness, they make me laugh everytime I see a video clip, and I just want to see the video clip again. So I guess that's a guilty plessure, because that sort of music is not me at all.

Yeah, thats a good thing, cause most aren't like that. Emo is a funny subject, because it has 2 types of fans. it's like, almost a dual kind of outlook in it. It's something that is currently cool to listen to, but it is also equally just as cool to hate it. its 50/50, and it's stupid. I think people need to think for themselves, and just tell everyone who has a problem with what they listen to fo f*ck off. Music is the source of more hatred, discrimination, prejudice, and even sometimes violence than almost anything else that people are currently focusing on. (including sex, reigion, sexual orientation, ect.) I dunno, I'm ranting now, hahahahahahaha.

Most people only talk **** because all they've ever heard is the complete cheese mainstream crap that's played on Mtv nonstop or on the radio. They don't dwell too deep into it. I can respect people's opinions for not liking a music genre when they've heard some of the actual genre.

As for me, I don't think its a guilty pleasure for myself. For a while Jpop was my guilty pleasure.

Yeah, I'm with you on that one. It's just there are so few who actually do not like it. There are more people who it is a guilty pleasure for, so they run it down then go home and put on a Dashboard cd. You know? haha. Those are the people that anger me.

Sneer 03-06-2005 11:21 AM
