Cursive/Jimmy Eat World (pop-punk thread)

I don't know if you guys have ever listened to anything by Cursive or Jimmy Eat World, if you have you've probably realized that most of it is pretty awful. Or maybe you like, i don't know, i just know that i personally think it's pretty awful. Anyway, while i really don't care much for Jimmy Eat World because it seems like they were just looking to sell out from the start, their first full-length (self-titled) is just too ****ing good not to listen to.
Here's a song from it, i put it up on divshare so that you could listen to it on their site without actually having to d/l it:
09 - Reason 346.mp3 - DivShare

As for Cursive, i really like a lot of their older stuff, like the Sucker and Dry 7", The Icebreaker 7", and the Blinding Stars for Starving Eyes LP/CD.
Here's a song from the Sucker and Dry 7" (also on divshare):
01 - Sucker And Dry.mp3 - DivShare

I don't know a lot of really good pop-punk, Dig Dug, Jessica Six, The Tie That Binds, Pony Boy Curtis, Servo, and maybe a handful of other bands whose records pop up from time to time in used bins/internet blogs, so what little stuff i do have i listen to a lot. Feel free to share other awesome pop-punk stuff :)

ive never really listened to any of jimmy eat world's stuff previous to bleed american, it is pretty decent. the s/t. I need to still listen to the split with mineral

Thanks, i've listened to some of Jawbreaker's stuff before and wasn't into it at all, i think it was Dear You. But i did enjoy some stuff a friend played for me, though i'm not sure which album it was from. I'll search it out.

As for Jimmy Eat World, i don't like anything with the other guy as lead singer. I think Static Prevails and the Self-titled have the original singer. I haven't heard the Mineral split either (i didn't know they had a split with them).

Btw, if you haven't heard it yet you should listen to the song "Sounds like Summer" by Servo, it's one of the happiest songs ever. I listen to that and "Summer" by Buffalo Tom on repeat pretty much all summer.

The Anniversary are a good pop-punk band, in my opinion. Designing For a Nervous Breakdown, more specifically.
I never checked out the b-sides/rarities collection from a while back. Any opinions?

I love Cursive(hence the name) but yeah they have gotten a bit worse over the years. I love the s/t JEW album though, it's great. For Pop-Punk I don't know if this is what you mean but I like stuff like Shook Ones and Bearings.

Jimmy Eat World covers Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together". What do you think? I'm kind of disappointed.

Better than the original. JEW fell off years ago, that being said this surpassed the expectations I had for it.
The frontman looks more and more like Tim Robbins every time I see him also.
