the world is a beautiful place and i am no longer afraid to die
I couldn't find a thread for these guys, and it saddens me that the hardcore emo thread is pretty much dead.
These guys blend alot of aspects of music that I really enjoy. If you like any sort of emo i suggest taking a listen. Even if you don't you should atleast listen to some. The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die |
I agree, these guys are awesome, they have a nice atmospheric feel to them and Formlessness is one of my favorite EPs of the past year.
|
Amazing band, I'm not sure how I got their EP "Formlessness", but it's a great listen!
|
These guys are good, I just wish they'd change their name.

Band has an epic name haha. Haven't listened though, may do that.
|
Seems like people either love or hate the name. And like talking about it more than the music.
|
Great name, Great band.
Walnut Street is Dead WOW |
The name is epic. I'll give them a listen.
|
Can anyone hook me up with a full version of the Josh is Dead EP? All the ones I've tried are missing To Miss Catherine.
|
I would recommend you guys go get their split with Deer Leap, it's fantastic. Some of the best stuff they've ever done in my opinion.
Deer Leap + The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die are here to help you.zip |
They actually aren't bad at all.
But these fucking band names... god... |
Ah, I adore this band. I truly, truly do.
They did something rather extraordinary for me, in fact. The first time I listened to them was the first time I was really able to wrap my head around the fact that not everything defined as "emo" was the awful tat I listened to when I was twelve. And I just can't express my thankfulness of that with any sort of accuracy short of running through the streets with a trumpet raised high in the air proclaiming that I have been saved by the blessed emo. And I am also thankful for their part in introducing me to Deer Leap. All in all, I'm just glad that this is a band that exists. |
I found their track To The Janitor, To the king on a compilation CD entitled Mixed Singles.
It appears to be a collection of emo bands, I shall listen and post my thoughts. The track itself is top-notch though, and I now possess a copy if anybody wants it. |
I just checked them out and don't get it. They don't sing about anything in particular and the music isn't anything new either, they sound like a bunch of other bands that i don't really care for (maybe Empire! Empire!). It's cool they've got everything to listen to for free and even have lyrics, but it still looks (and sounds) too much like a business for my taste. What exactly is it that people like about them?

Been a while since anyone posted about these guys, but I've been seeing that their album 'Whenever If Ever' (their first full length unless I'm mistaken) has been getting quite a bit of buzz.
I think it's deserved, the recognition they're beginning to garner if for the EP's as much as anything. The album itself is actually growing on me quite a bit, Gig Life is a great track and they've continued down the path of keeping things melancholy and primarily instrumental based. Anyone else heard the record, best emo album I've heard this year...but then again how many new emo albums has the average person heard in 2013? |

Their new song is out and it's awesome. Just read my post on the first page of this thread, these guys are one of my favourite bands now.
|
I'm listening to Whenever, If Ever. Isn't it funny how you know immediately from the first track you're in for an emo record?
|
From what I've heard (like 6/7 songs) they're an amazing band. Have any of you guys listened to their new LP yet?
