everyone argues about what genre bands are in, they will forever. people dont think the same, therefore, they wont think bands are in a certain genre. plus its pretty hard to know the exact genre a band is in. it will always be like that.

Emo to me means emotive hardcore. Not pop punk with lyrics about ex girlfriends and rainy days and a scream from time to time, but a wide range of bands ranging from hard hitting walls of sound to soft melodic riffs. Bands from Orchid to Indian Summer. Emo doesn't always have emotional introspective lyrics, alot of the lyrics are very thought provoking, political and about soceity. Brand New is closer to emo than Jimmy Eat World, but I haven't listened to their whole record.

Not if the corporate music world dies Angie. Then all these names will be forgotten. All music will simply be called "Peace". Metal, Punk, and Hardcore will be called "Rebellion". And all the nymphs of the trees will fly and the stars will be one. |

but the chances of music just fading away and meaningless isnt very likely, either that or i just strongly dont want it to go away. i just think everyone should respect other's oppinons and not get into petty arguments about what genre they think a band belongs in. it would be a much nicer place here. i have to think before i post stuff so i dont start a ginormous argument.
