^Just looked them up on Last FM, will give them a spin later.

Those who are turned off by screaming, may want to check out Envy, I'm sure everyone who has contributed to this thread so far knows of them, but if there are others reading this, they are a Japanese group who incorporate elements of prog and post rock into their music, with some ****ing awesome harmonies and drumming.

They're really good, you get this early AFI-esque punk feel crossed with the intensity of what you'd expect from what gets called "real screamo." Watch out for the last track on their LP, though, it'll haunt you forever.

The LP you're referring to is 'The Story Unfolds' right?

I love screamo, and it's unfortunate that it's been something I have sort of neglected for the past few weeks. I've been in such a permanent prog mode. Here's some stuff I love.

Spoiler for For Youtube Videos:

kindly take your post-hardcore ATDI disciple bull**** and leave. none of those bands are skramz, and in previous years there would've been a dozen members here ready to crucify you for claiming so.

Not exactly seeing what you're getting at considering post-hardcore is a style based on screamo and hardcore which from what I saw was the discussion in this thread. Plus the fact that Alesana is the only post-hardcore band I mentioned in my post, the other two are defined as screamo by wikipedia, last.fm, and anything else you want to throw into the mix.

and I don't really see what you're getting at by thinking that wikipedia or last.fm or "anything else you want to throw into the mix" knows fuckall about screamo. There are so many fundamental and ideological differences between what you just posted and screamo that it would take me decades to try and explain it to you, because quite honestly if you consider a band to be skramz solely on the basis that they have a lyricist who screams and their songs have breakdowns then you're out of your head. This is not, nor will it ever be screamo. It's garbage metalcore/post-hardcore that is more about the image they portray and making "BROOTAL" noises than the music or philosophy behind it.

I know it isn't exactly seen as a hotbed for good screamo, but the UK's produced some decent bands:
