what about I Hate You?

~nutshell~ 01-08-2007 09:55 AM

I always thought post-hardcore was later than the early to mid eighties....??

yodaisagungan 01-29-2007 12:16 PM

where does fall of troy fit into all this?

A_Perfect_Sonnet 01-29-2007 01:36 PM

Spazzy post-hardcore with progressive elements.

yodaisagungan 01-29-2007 01:46 PM

any other bands you would recommend for a fall of troy fan?

Trauma 01-29-2007 01:50 PM

The Blood Brothers, Circle Takes the Square, Fear Before the March of Flames, Circa Survive, Saosin, Nu-Underoath, HORSE the Band.

Um, the good bands on there (except the blood brothers) aren't anything like the fall of troy...

The Blood Brothers, The Red Light Sting, Rush, At The Drive-In, The Sound Of Silence, then if theres some other post-hardcore bands like Million Dead and Hundred reasons if you like At The Drive-In, I mainly listed them because the Fall Of Troy has been described as a combination (may have said their biggest influences are?) At The Drive-In and Rush.

Also you should check out Circle Takes The Square anyway.

Trauma 01-29-2007 02:37 PM

Yeah, they sound exactly Rush, every detail of their sound.
I agree with At The Drive-In, but I wouldn't say they're similar to Million Dead.
They're much more akin to acts like FBTMOF, HTB, and CTTS with elements of pop rock like Saosin.

Edit: I'm talking Doppleganger.
Their more spazzy old stuff is a little closer to what you described, although not completely.

sleepy jack 01-29-2007 02:41 PM

I can see that actually, but do we really want him listening to Saosin?

Plus I wasn't talking about the exact sound but they are pretty similar. They both belong to that branch of post-hardcore, that they belong to.

yodaisagungan 01-29-2007 03:52 PM

please don't make me listen to saosin. my ears hurt already.
