Hey, I just finished reading Nothing Feels Good, which is sort of a cross section of emo from its beginnings to now. I really enjoyed it, it was very informative, and I would reccomend it as a good book to read. The only bad thing was the chapter on Vagrant Records, which went on forever .

I havent actually read the book although I have thought about it But hey vagrant has made a great contribution to the emo/hardcore world and should be recognized accordingly :)

starEied 05-25-2004 01:17 PM

Its andy greenwald, good book, red it a couple times (ha ah) he writes for spin mag too. All around its a good book, good history, good thoughts, and so it ranks all around.. good

Thrice 05-25-2004 07:37 PM

I dont ever read, not even for school i cheat on test. But I actually might try to read this book. Ive only read 2 books for fun in my like. Lord of the flies and the Hobbit.

emocapella 05-29-2004 04:23 PM

yo i just finished reading it. its amazing. defintely hit the nail on the head when it comes to where emo came from. and my fav chapter is definitely the weezer one. ive always liked weezer and share the idea that pinkerton was an extreme dissappointment. though they really arent emo, weezer is classic and i'll always like them...

starEied 05-30-2004 07:13 PM

Yeah but its how weezer effected tghe punk-emo scene.

hah my favorite line in the book is... teenagers were given eyeballs to roll them and school/families/lives to complain about them
hhah..

ally 05-31-2004 04:28 PM
