Rites of Spring

i emo or atleast what it's become these days, but i love me some Rites of Spring. you kids out there with your Used and Chemical Romance cds need to toss them in a meat grinder and head down to your local underground record store and pick up the Rites of Spring album.

sleepy jack 08-22-2005 07:17 PM

I like the used and MCR quite a bit and i dont see why i should ditch them.

Anyway i like them alot their album is amazing and my favorite song is deeper than the inside.

All_Nite_Dinah 08-23-2005 11:21 AM

Finally a decent band in this thread. Rites of spring are awsome. But dont worry people you dont need an "underground music store" to buy the albums I saw one at best buy the other day....

hookers with machineguns 08-23-2005 11:51 AM

Rites of Spring>>>>>everything.

White Lies 06-09-2006 05:21 PM

Drink Deep is orgasmic.

Rites of Spring are amazing...End on End, wow.

swim 08-03-2007 08:38 AM

I have some live sets if anyone wants them.

Inuzuka Skysword 08-03-2007 08:49 AM

I have End on End and love it.

BTW this may be one of the funniest Crowquill posts:

Oh my God Ethan's post is glorious.

xcassiusx 08-03-2007 01:32 PM

For Want Of has always been and continues to be my favorite song of theirs. I don't think anything else compares. That one song alone made me buy their End On End/discography CD.

IN PRISONS OF THE MIND

mr.devotchka 08-03-2007 03:01 PM

alright band they have some good tunes, guy went on to do one last wish which didnt sound much different.
i prefer rain, another dc emo blahablah, check em out if you have not yet listened

Inuzuka Skysword 08-03-2007 03:03 PM

I personally think Crowquill like grew up on this site. I mean at one time he liked Behemoth.

Laces Out Dan! 08-03-2007 03:31 PM

My music taste has changed very drastically since I first started posting here. All I listened to when i first posted here was like, Symphony X, Pain of Salvation, Blind Guardian, Demons and Wizards. I didnt like screaming at all, Ethan was the one who showed my The Fall of Troy, and at first I hated it. But we see where thats gone now.

Rain doesn't get half as much credit as they should though I've always thought them post-hardcore -doesn't really matter they're just really good. The LP is going to/was [not sure] rereleased on cd.

mr.devotchka 08-03-2007 10:17 PM

definitely, and well yeah, i guess they are post-hardcore, but anyways.

i think that cd is going to be released this august. i forget

Revolutionarypunk 07-04-2011 11:23 AM

Rites of Spring is real emo; today's **** is just labeled emo; Its really just pop music.

BastardofYoung 07-04-2011 11:29 AM

just don't call em Emo. Many of those bands hate that term.

Ian Mackaye once said about it:

Revolutionarypunk 07-04-2011 11:33 AM

I know.

Revolutionarypunk 07-04-2011 11:33 AM

I will just call them post-hardcore then.

Revolutionarypunk 07-04-2011 11:36 AM

Emo was started by punks. It is completly different then modern emo. There is no connection between modern emo, and 80s/early 90s emo at all.

Revolutionarypunk 07-04-2011 11:38 AM

They were labeled emo, but they are not the wavy haired scene kids we see today. They piss off scene kids. They are underground emo, and that is nothing to be ashamed about.

Revolutionarypunk 07-04-2011 11:39 AM

It is all just music, anyway.

BastardofYoung 07-04-2011 11:41 AM

Also, for those who have not done so, check out Guy's other band One Last Wish kinda similar, those who likes Rites of Spring should check em out.

These posts are hilarious!
Yes, in many ways a lot of growing was done amongst others on this site, and the blogs of others haha.
I don't think my taste in music has changed much since I've been on this site though...
