Sonic Youth. With a big period. Please, listen to them... Rather Ripped is great, though not quite enough feedback for my tastes. Hoping for a live version, their concert was better than the recording. Still, an awesome album.

Other bands, Muse, Mekons, Fire when Ready, King Missile, radiohead (duh), replacements. Sebadoh has also been sounding good recently. Oh. Older XTC.

Perfume

I heard a track on MySpace the other day that I really liked called Perfume. You can hear it at myspazz /karimfanous I am a fan of the book by Patrick Suskind and think this is related to that. Made me wonder if there are any other songs based on books etc?

flickcurb 11-30-2006 04:54 AM

i've read perfume and it is an amazing book! there is a film being made at the moment but not sure if i want to see it because when a book is made into a film it ends up bugging me! its someone else's version of the book, and not mine! on another note just went to karim fanous' myspace and listened to his version of perfume, and was pleasently surprised! has anyone seen him perform before?

I reccomend Kaizers Orchestra. They call themselves postrock, and they sing in a Nordic language. I have no idea what the songs are about, but it sounds like total nonsense. It's upbeat, funny, different, and supposedly... Great live!

I uploaded 2 albums for you:
