bands you cant stop listening to...

basically just the music that is on high rotation at the moment.

In order:
Built to Spill - keep it like a secret
Pavement - slanted and enchanted
Wolf Parade - Apollogies to the Queen Mary
Dungen - Ta det Lungt
The Dismemberment plan - change

go for it..

grandaddy - Indie/Space Pop at it's best... i listen to a LOT of random bands all the time.. but the last few months I still keep grabbing a grandaddy album regularly to listen to. They are becoming on of my fav bands ever actually (tho the recent EP only has a couple good songs)!

In last 6 months another band that is getting constant rotation for me is Soulwax. Indie Rock at it's best (and with new album electroclash/dance at it's best...)

yeah Grandaddy are supersweet. i only have Sumday. what would you recommend?

IndiElectronica 10-26-2005 07:55 AM

er... not heard anything BAD by them to be honest... But i recommend getting the albums in this order (good to less good)

Under the Western Freeway
Sumday
The Sophtware Slump
Concrete Dunes (compilation)
Broken Down Comforter Collection (compilation)
A Pretty Mess By This One Band (not heard this yet actually but will order in the next week if I find it used/cheap - basing it low on other reviews)

At the moment I seem to be on a constant loop of Sigur Rós albums.

I've only listened to Agaetic Byrjun and (), both are very, very good. I can't help listening to O.A.R's new album Stories Of A Stranger, and I keep listening to Rilo Kiley. Specifically the More Adventurous album.

If you like them two then I reckon you'll love the new one, Takk. I was a bit worried moving to a major label might make them change the sound and make it more "mainstream", but it really hasn't. It just sounds like the album they'd never had the money or the resources to make before.

That Rilo Kiley album is pretty damn good as well, as is the Execution of All Things.

According to my last.fm...

Metric - Live It Out
The Juan Maclean - Less Than Human
Gang of Four - Return the Gift
Broken Social Scene - S/T
The Strokes - Is This It
Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - S/T
Stars - Heart
Arctic Monkeys - Five Minutes with Arctic Monkeys
The Changes - Changes EP
Andrew Bird - The Mysterious Production of Eggs

I haven't heard Metric - Live It Out, but Static Anonymity, Old World Underground Where Are You Now, and Grow Up & Blow Away are all good.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah are pretty good too.

Franscar, I haven't got round to buying Takk yet, although it is on the list.
