Favorite Radiohead guitarist?
I don't know too much about them, but I think Johnny Greenwood is the best of the three.
I dunno on this one. I'd probably just go with Ed O'Brien.
Johnny Grenwood purely because he does some strange and wonderful things with guitar, he creates some really cool sounds that you hear from hardly anybody else.
yeah - johnny...
I think Thom summed it up quite well once, when he said "Johnny plays the good bits, I play the melodic bits, and Ed makes weird noises."
Radiohead still use guitars?
^ I was about to comment on that, but I didn't want to offend the trillions of Radiohead fans here. This thread made no sense to me since the beginning. I though Radiohead was known for its heavy studio tweeking and production. They havent been guitar-driven for years.

Johnny Greenwood
I think Johnny Greenwood is the best guitarist in Radiohead.
dude. it has got to be johnny. that guy is psychotic.
so true. and his score to "There Will Be Blood" was amazing, too. So multi talented. He wanted to bring banjo into the band, but the other member's outlawed it. Gotta love Johnny
Johnny Greenwood FTW.
I like the guy that's on House, though the emo one is pretty good too.
Johnny Greenwood just has an incredible sense of musicality, it's really just unmatched.
i liek teh baldy one and the one wit hthe funny eye
Jonny is the lead guitarist. Ed play the "atmospheric weirdness"
I thought they took turns playing lead.
Most of the time it's Jonny on lead he does all the solos, except for treefingers which was originally a very long solo by Ed. Ed does most of the atmospheric sounds particularly on Kid A and Amnesiac songs. Most of the time Ed's doing rhythm but he does occasionally plays lead if Jonny's playing something else.
After 6 years I can announce the winner is Jonny Greenwood.
Well done Jonny. |
