Shins sounding like The Smiths
 

on the new album, particularly on the track "Australia." Now, I'm not suggesting that the vocals sound like morrissey or the guitar like Johnny's.
But if you had Morrissey singing and about 13 more layers of guitar, this song could easily fit in on a later smiths album, musically and lyrically.


And tell me these lyrics couldn't have come form Moz himself:

"Ah, I feel like I should just cry,
But nothing happens every time I take one on the chin,
You don't know how long I've been,

It's quite good, as is "Phantom Limb" and "Turn on me."

The biggest thing they have in common, are their uniquely, melodic voices.

New Slang is so beautiful.

Mmm, Shinny.. I choose Black Wave, purely for it's knack of making me melt into the shape of whatever I'm sat in.
