Default Dance Hall At Louse Point

Background:My sister is a music freak, I'd love to one days have her collection but unfortanutly my life until this point I have been called musically retarded even by the poeple who only sample bits of mainstream songs.

To the point: I just got her gift for my eighteenth B-day in the mail. She sent me a CD, John Parish and Polly jean harvey's Dance Hall At Louse Point. She said this sort of music is music we carry for the rest of our lives. Also, on the 23th, she bought us floor tickets, whatever that is, to a live small venue performance at El Rey theatre.

So I wanted to ask: What does MusicBanter think of John Parish and Polly Jean Harvey? What do you think of Dance Hall At Louse Point? Do you have any suggestions for me? Plus anything else you want to throw in there, thanks!

A class album that gets overlooked, perhaps because it isn't under the PJ Harvey name. Her bluesy roots are accompanied really well by Parish's guitar playing and it's a welcome return after the more electro-based To Bring You My Love. The highlight for me is probably the cover of Peggy Lee's Is That All There Is?, a wonderful song. There's a new album from the two of them on March 30th, can't bleedin' wait.

You've also reminded me that this is the next album to do in my discog thread, i swear i'll get round to it when i get rid of all the essays and lab reports.
