Place Pigalle
Here's the fallen sun on holiday Meeting her byes about halfway Looking it's killed many men And I've been all of them Inside a week See the man in the bar Who got too drunk to speak He adores that song, mundane as it is The days in a dream That wasn't his Nights about the top of the lift When it's gone to it's drifted far away To keep it together for long, it's half holiday From the bar they walk to Place Pigalle The taxi waved down, goodnight sleep well Now it's just a step to the door When he walks all or more to bring her away Out of this temporary half holiday |
Yeah Elliott Smith owns. Although i do have to Agree with the Bill Kid About Ethier/Or the Only One Being Worth Buying. The Other Albums had great songs but there were some horrible ones on them too.

XO was just as consistent, and I still don't understand that opinion seeing as alot of the tracks on it were mediocre compared to others along the same lines and Cupid's Trick is an okay song at best.

wha? someone agreeing with me. that is new and refreshing. about a year and a half late.

Whats wrong with A Question Mark, Everybody Cares Everybody Understands and I Didn't Understand? Sure A Question Mark is one of his most different songs but its still good, is it because its too 'happy?' An how you can like the first 11 tracks than hate Everybody Cares, Everybody Understands is beyond me and the closing track I Didn't Understand is one of the best Elliott Smith songs ever, and one of the most beautiful pieces of vocal work ever.
I'm not going to bother addressing the Figure 8 comment since Junk Bond Trader is track 3. |

I don't know, I don't like touching on Figure 8 because its kind of an inconsistent release, it has some of my favorite Elliott songs, but it has some of my least favorites.
|
Thats why Ethier/Or Is my favorite. I really did like The Self Titled Album, and Roman Candle Though, even if it dident sound as professional it was still pretty good.
|
XO and From a Basement ftw
