I don't know exactly but ever since New Moon came out I've regularly received text messages saying: "Elliott was on Ugly Betty! Elliott was on One Tree Hill!" and I even heard him on some crappy teenage love movie I was watching at three am. Really the only person who should be allowed to touch his songs cinematic wise is Gus Van Sant.

That aside, they were selling Elliott Smith postcards which is ridiculous. The only good thing about the New Moon merchandise was them selling a wider variety of Elliott Smith t-shirts.

No love for The Royal Tenenbaums? The last Gus Van Sant film I saw was Paranoid Park and he used The White Lady Loves You More and Angeles but I like his use of Elliott's music. But postcards? Really? I have to go google a picture now.

I thought his version of "Because" worked well at the end of American Beauty.

This guy's music is amazing. How did I go so long with only Either/Or to listen to? I've only listened to the beforementioned album as well as Roman Candle, s/t, and XO. Any recs of where to go next?

Just get all of it. Though Figure 8's the best one you're missing in my opinion, and my opinion possesses papal-like infallibility.

Thanks, Clark, that'll probably be the next one I check out, then. Yeah, I've been meaning to check out his full discography, but I need time to digest every new album at a time. On first listen to s/t, I didn't think it could surpass Either/Or, but now I think i like it more.
