Default The Dead C

If you haven't heard this band already I think you should do so now. They featured prominently on the Siltbreeze Record label which featured material by the likes of Sebadoh and Guided By Voices, also guitarist Bruce Russell formed two very good labels himself in Xpressway and Corpus Hermeticum. Probably my favourite rock based group from New Zealand.

Great video of The Dead C preforming Sky and talking about Suicide, how great is that
Great interview with Bruce Russell on the equally great Perfect Sound Forever

Albums to check out:

I read about 'em on that interview you posted, and I added Harsh 70's Reality to my wishlist.

I doubt it'll be an all too easy task to find it, though.

FINALLY got Harsh 70s Reality, and it's awesome! It lies somewhere between Wolf Eyes and Jesus Lizard... Good stuff.

They're new album, Future Artists, is excellent. My favorite Dead C album is either The White House or Harsh 70s Reality.

Also, the band is excellent live.

Just discovered this band through the "The Twelfth Spectacle" set of EP's released last year. Really great noisy rock stuff.
