Default Need you guys' Opinions

I wanna make a sticky up top with 5 songs people who don't really understand/know much about Indie can check out to get a good understanding of what it's all about. I have some in my own, but I'd like to get you guys opinions. I'll probably wait 2-3 days before I make it. So any suggestion will be considered.

Pixies- Dig for Fire
Jeff Buckley- Eternal Life
Radiohead- Exit Music
The Cure- Inbetween Days
The Smiths- There Is a Light That Never Goes Out

Probably be plenty of people choosing far more up to date stuff than this, but it's a start for you.

I've got some songs in mind already. I was just asking for opinions. Don't worry about the dates of the songs. I just want people to be able to listen to the music and understand what Indie music is about.

It's gonna depend how broad your definition of indie is, I mean, the "old style" of indie that started out with the Pixies and early REM back in the late 80's is nothing like the current stuff that is labelled indie these days. I think both sides of the Atlantic will have pretty diverse opinions on it as well.

^ ya, maybe to make it more helpful you could have five songs from a few different categories of indie, if that makes any sense

Agreed, this was harder than I thought. I was gonna make it simple, but its getting to my head. I've put it off for a little.

My brother is a HUGE fan of the British indie scene from the late 90's, when it really took off over here. I could quite easily get some of his favourites from him for that sort of list. Most of it should be very easy to find as well.
