Final Fantasy

is good, I downloaded his stuff awhile ago and didn't listen to it till I was looking for artists similar to patrick wolf. He did some work with the Arcade Fire. Its pretty chill stuff. I can upload He Poos Clouds or Has A Good Home if anyone wants it. The CN Tower Belongs to the Dead is my favorite song.

Could you upload Has A Good Home plz Ethan? I've heard He Poos Clouds. I didn't like it all that much, but I heard that his debut was so much better than his last.

Could be, it's just annoying that they crawl all over me whenever they achieve something in the game. And they actually think I care. They drag me in to watch a beautiful fifa goal now and then too...

Eh, i'm not to keen on soccer, so I can see where that would get annoying. But yeah, I like Final Fantasy games, they have great story lines, beautiful gaphics, all that jazz.

No but they are from the game Final Fantasy X-2.

How ever seeing as this is an Indie Music Forum Ma Cherie we are talking about Owen Pallets Band Final Fantasy based on the brilliant video game

Hope to clear this up

I figured that, I really wish people would read the first post before posting.

K so

I need some serious help. Umm it wont let me start my own thread...so I think im gonna ask here. i Really love broken social scene. Basically I was wondering what suggestions you could provide for similar artists. Umm I already have arcade fire, bloc party, the animal collective, and many other indie artists but anything specifically similar to broken social scene?

Ma Cherie 02-08-2007 09:32 PM

sorry i thought you meant the accual game

adidasss 05-03-2007 01:49 PM

I dunno...I just listened to Has a good home and I'm not liking it much...apart from the violin parts...he's obviously very deft with it, but his singing somehow doesn't measure up...

Or, this could be one of those albums that just takes time getting used to...

adidasss 05-03-2007 07:21 PM

This is amazing, how does he do that??

Yeah I agree - another great one coming out of the Toronto scene. I might go see him when I go at the Manchester International Festival - he's doing that as a UK date along with a slot at Latitude - I think that's his only two dates this summer this side of the Atlantic...

Final Fantasy

Hey, I did a search and didn't find much of anything.

I was just wondering if anyone here was a fan of Final Fantasy? I have been hearing a lot about them/him lately and I am a big fan of Owen Pallet's work with Arcade Fire. Anwyways, I was wondering if it is worth getting into. What do you all think of Owen Pallett? any suggestions of favourite songs, how similar is his solo stuff to what he does with Arcade Fire? Etc.

Thanks,

joyboyo53 11-21-2008 10:04 AM

it depends, its not like arcade fire at all if thats what your looking for. its a solo project that he does and he basically plays by recording a bunch of different layers he produces using his violin (and piano) and sets them to playback and plays on top of them. it is a very unique sound, and one that i am personally fond of. his live show was pretty interesting to watch and better than i expected when i saw him last fall. my favorite songs on his album 'he poos clouds' are 'many lives -> 49 MP' and 'this lamb sells condos'. hes spose to be a musical genius of sort, i think his first album was recorded in like a week and he alledgedly wrote like an opera at a really young age.

Thanks for the input. I picked up "He Poos Clouds" and "Has a Good Home" the other day, I am really liking his stuff. I guess it is always good to support local talent.

Thanks.
