It was kinda depressing at Reading when they came on looking old and fat and grey. They played a decent set though, just a shame so few people were interested.

How is that possible? It's so... mediocre.

The innovation and pure awesomeness on tracks like Little Furry Things or Forget the Swan is so much better than the boring post-grunge melodicism of tracks like Feel The Pain, which don't really have much going for them besides being kinda catchy.

Don't get me wrong, I liked "You're Living All Over Me", but didn't really dig the Peter Frampton tongue-in-cheek ending.Plus, I thought that "Kracked" and "Sludgefeast" were the best songs on the album - I haven't heard the remastered version, but the original CD had some pretty bad recording values.

And I the reason that I like "Where You Been" so much is because it is more catchy. It's still got j Mascis' raw guitar work, but I always felt that the melodies and layers to the music were much more honed and polished than on some of their earlier releases.

a great old skool group.. have seen them live once (ages ago) and heard most their albums. Not really my kinda music but certainly deserving of my respect.

Looks like I'll be seeing them again at ATP this year :)

Dinosaur Jr is coming down to play in my country in a few months so hopefully I can go and see them.

J Mascis is one of those awesome anti-heros who can't sing very well and is a mediocre guitar player, but there is something in his voice and presentation that makes you feel what he's saying and you know that it comes from inside - he never fakes it - it's all REAL.

I absoloutley adore this band, I was recommended them by someone online a few months ago and I checked out a few of their tracks, they are awesome, fantastic, a solid band.
