Low

I did a search to see if there were any preexisting threads about Low, but it didn't come up with any results, probably because it's just one 3-letter word.

Anyway, what do people think of them? I know I like them a lot. Probably my favourite of their albums is The Curtain Hits The Cast or maybe Trust.

you won't get much response sadly... Low is easily the most underappreciated band in the indie world. I've seen them 4 times now (just recently twice actually - at ATP and their gig at Shep's Bush in London).

I can't say enough great things about them really... EVERYONE here should own 'Trust' and 'Things We Lost in the Fire'. I'd recommend the 'Great Destoyer' next....

I've been meaning to make a 'best of' for a friend and will post here if I ever get that done.

Hard to explain their stuff, but it's most slow and melancholy - but some of the (in comparison) faster songs can jump out at you (like Dinorsaur Act).

Things We Lost in the Fire is great. I like listening to this band when I'm reading, I just like their vibe for that.

Last summer I decided to listen to Low for a week straight. It's the most that music has ever effected my overall mood.

I can agree Low probably is the most under appreciated band in the indie world. Of all the people I know who have heard them, there are only a few who like them. What I found out for Low is that generally people either love them or hate them. I went to see them last summer, and it was an amazing show. Afterwards I talked to Alan Sparhawk, and apparently he's a fan of my brother's band in Duluth. It was cool.

They've played twice in Manchester recently but I've failed to go and see them. California is a nice little song but I haven't heard much of their material.

You should definitely check them out. I think California is by far their most upbeat song.

One of my favorite bands ever... Trust, Things We Lost in the Fire, Secret Name, Drums and Guns, Long Division, The Curtain Hits the Cast, and The Christmas EP are all beautiful releases.

Great album! Bowie and Eno really brought it together. Oh wait... no never heard of them.
