Now thats what I called Indie
Don't know how I feel about this. The target market probably owns all of this anyway, so there's no real point to it.
I find it funny an indie comp is being released by a major label.
Strange things are afoot.
guys c'mon, a major label releasing an "indie rock" compilation titled "Now That's What I Call Indie" is a serious case of hipster irony, which is totally indie.
Vice Records is technically owned by Atlantic, but most of the big "Indie" labels aren't so Indie after all anyway. It's recently been a much better label than most of the ones P4K goes apeshit over.
As for the compilation itself, I'm not sure who this is even targeted to? Vice readers already listen to, or hate, most of those bands already, so the comp is sort of pointless. |
Now thats what I call tepid white boy guitar music vol 1
I like that its "indie rock." Even when they try to be they can't be ****ing cool. I mean the saying "now thats what I call..." died in the 1950's. But bringing it back and adding a superfluous and potentially incorrect adjective on the end there makes it ripe to have the commercial read by an 80 year old man.
When the release the stoner album why don't they just call it "now thats what I call music for when you're using the pot" |
Now I have to start listening to Math Metal or something. :(
now thats what I call arithmetic.
