What's with the two names?

Are they two bands in one? Or one weird band? Or a band with a side project?

Mount Eerie started off as The Microphones.. everything's centered around Phil Elverum's genius.

Phil Elverum is a musician who released albums under the The Microphones who then decided to change the name and release music under the name Mount Eerie. But from my understanding The Microphones and Mount Eerie are considered two different projects. But anyways, various albums released under both names are amazing, particularly The Microphones, "The Glow Pt. 2"

I was wondering when someone was going to make a Mount Erie thread. Pitchfork worships them almost as much as TV on the Radio. The only difference is that I don't like TVOTR and I do like Mount Erie. You guys have checked out Wind's Poem yet? How is it?

btw, Zero1986, how did you fix the youtube videos?

Like, have you ever heard the rumor that you can drop cash on the street in Tokyo and the people are so honest that someone will find it, pick it up, and take it to the cops? Well, that's absolutely 100% not true, because I once found a plain envelope on the ground with "6,000 yen" written on it. Inside was 6,000 yen. I put it in my pocket and kept walking.

I really like Wind's Poem, it is at times very chill and subtle, and at other times really loud and hard, but each song is very good, very Phil Elverum. My favorite album under the moniker The Microphones is the Glow Pt. 2, brilliant stuff
