Default The Temper Trap

Ok, I haven't even listened to the whole album yet and I had to rush and tell others about it. I watched 500 days of Summer last night where Sweet disposition is featured heavily and boy, is it a gorgeous song. The lead singer has an amazing voice. It's been a while since I've heard a new band whose singer actually has a really great voice.

Check it out:
Sweet disposition

Amazing song, great video, I got goosebumps when I saw it.

Science of fear

If i hear Sweet Disposition one more time im going to go DIY on the removal of my cochleas. Nothing stand out about it at all in my opinion, just another 'indie song' my mother likes.

If it's any consolation, following stu's threat to remove his own cochleas...I liked 'Science of Fear'.
His voice has a similar quality to James Mercer. Or at least it puts me in mind of him.

Dont get me wrong, the guy has a pretty passable voice, but the music is aural drudgery, it's been done to death.

I've only heard Sweet Disposition. I love it and do not get bored of it however many times it appears in MTV2's rock chart but my other half has threatened violence to the television if it is played one more time...

I miss MTV2

Anyhoo, I've had a chance to digest the whole album and I have to admit it's not particularly good overall. There are literally 4 good tracks on it and they pretty much account for 90% of the 100-something plays my last.fm counted. They need to utilize his falsetto more and pursue the more mellow, indie aspect of their music. The alt. rock stuff is just cringe worthy.
