Their myspace says pop/ disco house/ shoegaze. They have a couple of EP's out and the album (which, as far as I can tell, is comprised mostly of the EP's) is out September 1st. I likes lots...

Not bad..not bad at all..
I'm digging the electro house beat.

I want to know where the flippin' shoegaze element is...they've got more of a dream pop thing going.

WolfAtTheDoor 07-29-2008 07:42 PM

yeah I love this band, dreamy n ****, how I like it.

I trust you're making that conclusion based on one song?

sweetleaf 07-30-2008 08:55 AM

I saw them play last year at the TDK festival in King's Cross, they were really good I enjoyed them better live than when I saw their video later on...

Yes :(

robbiez666 09-13-2008 05:59 PM

love the album.

adidasss 02-13-2009 10:45 AM

I just realized the chorus to In the hospital is totally lifted from Talking heads' Crosseyed and painless on Remain in light...*giggles*

sweetleaf 02-16-2009 06:35 AM

wow, not sure if I would have picked that up myself but now that you have brought my attention to it... it does sound similar

Sneer 02-16-2009 07:01 AM

Boring. Saw them live not long ago and we resorted to going to the sofa'a at the back of the club and getting hideously drunk

Sneer 02-16-2009 08:44 AM

Not contesting that

adidasss 02-16-2009 09:20 AM

 What?

Farfisa 02-16-2009 09:36 AM

I was stating similarities between Animal Collective and Friendly Fires in a live setting... it was a pointless post so I deleted it.

Sneer 02-16-2009 09:27 PM

Haha... god i look mental, glad you explained that Loose :thumb:

Friendly Fires are an amazing live band, had tickets to go see them a few years back up in Manchester, but fell ill before I could go. Heard nothing but rave reviews about them. If you like them, then check out their song Lovesick, is one of their better tracks. Can't get the synth part toward the end of this track outta my head. Catchy stuff.

adidasss 02-17-2009 12:32 PM

Klaxons are nowhere near as funky...

WolfAtTheDoor 02-19-2009 01:12 PM

i've decided that their album is my favourite of 2008, along with bon iver and the maccabees. i'd say they've got one of the best frontmen out there at the moment aswell.

Friendly Fires

Anybody listened to these? I Think they're Canadian. I Saw them support Interpol a couple of years ago and got their debut album recently.

I quite like it. synth laden indie pop. Some really good tracks like ''Jump In The Pool'' and ''Photobooth''.

Gone Sugaring 04-26-2009 11:17 AM

They're actually from England. I didn't care for the album overall, but I'd admit that I think Paris is a great song.

jjkeops 09-22-2009 07:00 AM

Bit of a plagiarism issue though. Skeleton Boy sounds exactly like Olive's 'You're not alone'.
