Default The Joy Formidable

I have recently purchased their album off their website, one of the best new things I have heard in quite some time. In particular the single Cradle, which puts a smile on my ace everytime I hear it.
Are there any other fans out there, if so has anyone seen them live?

Maybe you should give a little more info on who they are and what kind of music they play so that the thread doesn't become completely useless unless you know them from before.

Sorry, The Joy Formidable are a female fronted indie 3-piece from Wales. The songs in my opinion have great melodies and the singer is really talented, the band are gaining a following in The UK and hopefully will release a full legnth album soon.

Check out a song called Cradle on You Tube, it puts a smile on my face everytime I hear it

a great live band. saw them supporting Howling Bells last month and they had such soul & passion. For a 3 piece a huge sound.
Headlining in the UK end of May & June & tickets are bought.

I quite like them, although I get confused between their songs. Even though they only have about eight songs. I have their cd - not sure if it is technically an album or an EP, though. Cradle is good although I also like The Greatest Light is the Greatest Shade (at least I think that's the one I like, they do all sound quite similar to me...). I've seen them live at Leeds festival, they're touring supporting Passion Pit soon as well.

Here is the song Joy Formidable did with Paul Draper (formerly of Mansun), one of my favourite songs at the moment:

Really love The Joy Formidable. Saw them live supporting the Manics earlier in the year and footage I've seen of their support slot to the Foo Fighters looks awesome! A Heavy Abacus, Whirring and Greyhounds In The Slips are amongst my faves by them.

I'd love to see this band live, from the videos I've seen Ritzy looks full of energy onstage. The Big Roar is definitely one of my top ten albums of 2011.

I had wanted to see them at the Birmingham HMV Institute but couldn't make it that night. Was well gutted!

They seem like the type of band that would be better suited to smaller venues rather than supporting bigger bands in arenas. They played their own show in Dublin a couple of months ago but I couldn't go unfortunately.
