Cool The official Frank Black appreciation superdooper thread

For those that dont know, charles thompson aka black francis aka frank black is best known as the frontman of the pixies has released 16 albums since 1993 under different monikers. Since embarking his solo career he has received very little mainstream sucess but has built a strong cult fanbase among all ages and from all places.

Black breaches several genres from hardrock to country and has distanced himself from the pixies sound yet still managed to maintain his originality. His vocal style has gone from screaming/whispering delivery with the pixies to a much more melodic delivery in his solo work (His last 2 albums have seen him revisit this style briefly).

As a long time pixies fan Iv followed blacks career religiously, Iv found his almost nerdy charisma infectious and his music even more so.

I want YOUR stories and opinions, DISCUSS!

His first solo album is a joy and well worth listening to if you want more of Pixies' whimsical side.
