Peter Murphy fans?

Any fans of the former Bauhaus Singer? I'm really really getting into him again. He has such a wonderful and unique voice. I saw him live in July here in Vegas, he was awesome.

What are your favorite songs of him?

My Top 5:

1. Cuts You Up
2. All Night Long
3. Roll Call
4. Strange kind Of Love
5. I'll Fall W/Your Knife

I think I have to go with the obvious choice of "Indigo Eyes" as my favorite song by him. I have to say I haven't been all that impressed with his post-Bauhaus career, though to be fair I think I've only heard two of his albums.

I have'nt heard any of his solo stuff although some Bauhaus stuff does'nt exactly blow me away TBH.

That may not be an impediment to you liking his solo stuff, it's pretty different. I'm a huge fan of Bauhaus but not of Peter Murphy solo. Maybe you'll discover you're the reverse.

I don't dislike Bauhaus at all but unfortunately i got into the bands that they influenced a lot first, consequently they don't set my worls afire. I do like them, the BBC sessions album is stellar but I don't find myself playing them a whole lot.

I'm a huge fan of Bauhaus, but Murphy belongs to the band and the band to him.

The last time I saw Murphy solo, was a couple of years ago at The Academy.
He began the set with his back to the audience, lights down low, arms outstretched with head back like a fallen messiah.
The mood was set with typical funereal tones. The tension rose.
Then the spotlight hit him at the very apex of the intro...to reveal a bald patch on the back of his napper!
There was much snickering among the crowd and I remember staring blankly at him with pursed lips.
Shame really cos' the night went down hill after that.
Awesome with Bauhaus though.

I still can't associate you with Bauhaus David. They seem so diametrically opposed to what I associate your listening habits to be. It's not a criticism at all BTW.

I can easily see why you might assume that.
Love of Northern soul perhaps?
Bottom line is, if it's quality I'll appreciate it. Regardless of genre.

OT

Best solo album is 'Dust'.
'Your Face' is the pick of it IMO.

I really dug that. A lot of atmosphere. Another album I'm going to have to get!
