White Denim
Pretty sweet band, i trust people know of them here? Gritty old school garage rock with blues, soul and punk influences. Real dirty edge.
They've had a couple of singles over here doing well, in fact i'd put Lets Talk About it up there with my favourite singles of the past year. The Workout Holiday LP is excellent, thoroughly recommend it. The Lets Talk About It EP is also pretty decent |
Heard Shake Shake Shake and thought it was fairly average really.
|
I love that song..
|
The video for "Shake Shake Shake" reminds me of Gummo.
Anyway, they're a little too upbeat for me. But then, I listen to Tori Amos. :O |
saw them at sxsw last year. it was very "ok". it wasnt bad, but i wasnt exactly impressed; they seemed pretty amateur.

Theyre alright, I have an EP by them, but there is nothing on it that arouses my interest enough to get a full length album by them.

Must say i didnt expect such a lukewarm response, the album is very good, very raw and, yes, in a way amateurish. They recorded it in a caravan for **** sake! But thats the good thing about them in my opinion, at times its sloppy, at times its clumsy, thats what makes it an interesting listen. Theyre just 3 guys going at it. Plus, its a surprisingly experimental piece in places, with sitar breaks, dub sections and minimalist excerpts.
Anyway, if you're able to get hold of the album i'd advice you at least just give it a listen |
Just started listening to these guys. Their 2011 album, D, is solid. Check it out:

I actually saw them live last summer and it was epic.
Bought the record and it was... Meh. I like their punk side, I dislike their "Yes"-side. |
I really like this older song and video:
Let's Talk About It If their current sound is anything like Yes then I won't look any further. |
Let's Talk About It is the song that originally got me into the band, I still dig it now, though I have to say I haven't kept up to date with their career.
